You come to The Hideout for a Western adventure and dressing the part is half of the fun. You don't want to look like a city slicker while working side-by-side with real cowboys on a real ranch. And you need to be wearing the appropriate gear to be comfortable for a day in the saddle. Plus, you'll want to look as authentic and local as possible in photographs.

For the convenience and souvenir-shopping pleasure of our guests, The Hideout Store is well stocked with desirable and necessary Western articles. Everything we offer reflects both the Western adventure and the quality that we adhere to at The Hideout. You will find our prices to be competitive. We offer, for example:

Western Apparel

Cowboy Hats -- We have both felt and straw hats in different styles and brands including Baileys, Atwood, and U-Shape-It.

Belts -- Colorado Horsehair, Tony Lama, Brush Creek, and Justin are a few of the name brands The Hideout sells.

Women's Apparel -- Ethyl vests and jackets; Roper western shirts; Scully, Montanaco, and Cripple Creek jackets.

Men's Attire -- Western vests by Wyoming Trader, Leather Gallery, and Cripple Creek, and Western shirts from Barn Fly.

Cowboy Slickers

Cowboy Boots -- We carry the Heritage Western style of Ariat cowboy boots in various unisex sizes for $139.95.

Because of the great variety of styles, brands, and sizes that can be had in jeans or boots, we do not carry other cowboy boots or any lines of jeans. However, we can make recommendations to trusted local shops where you can buy boots and jeans. Although we are sometimes able to offer good quality used cowboy boots.

Chaps, Chinks, Saddle Bags -- of different qualities and prices.

Saddles and Tack -- The Hideout Store is a Billy Cook Distributor and we use Billy Cook saddles for our guests. We offer Billy Cook saddles at competitive prices and you can try out different types of saddles during your stay. For Billy Cook saddles, please see our Head Wrangler Bill Schwarz.

Custom, Hand-Made Leather Goods

Local leatherworkers can come in to discuss various leather qualities and measure you to assure fit.

Plus locally-made, handcrafted saddles and tack. For high-quality, handcrafted, customized saddles we work with local saddlers. If you are interested, we can facilitate a meeting with these craftsmen to discuss your special wishes.

Note: We do need advance notice to arrange visits with these local artisan/craftsmen. Please inform us either ahead of your arrival or when you check in that you are interested in custom made Western items.

We can also help family or corporate groups determine a per-person budget for Gift Certificates; which they can spend on dressing the part for their Cowboy Adventure vacation. A group portrait of your gang in front of local Dirty Annie's Bar, herding cattle, 4x4 trucks, with the horses, views in the background, etc. makes for memorable photos.

Flitner Ranch Raised Angus Beef

We take pride in our Black Angus beef produced here on the 100-year-old Flitner Ranch. And yes, the excellent beef can be purchased to take home.

The Best of the Best

Our cattle roam in pure air and feed on the wide open ranges on native grasses and herbs. After this, our cattle are corn fed for several months in our feedlot designed according to latest agricultural technology from consultants at the University of Colorado.

The difference between grass-raised beef and ours, it that although both have been raised on grass and herbs, the fact that Flitner Ranch cattle are also fed corn results in the marbled, juicy, exceptional flavor of a real American ranch-raised steak. Wyoming meat quality standards are amongst the highest in the country and we take great pride that Flitner Ranch beef rates High Choice, which is "best of the best" rating.

If you enjoy a great burger, you'll want to take home our famous hamburger meat, ground to perfection. How wonderful to be sharing a piece of juicy Flitner Ranch beef with your friends, while showing the photos of your herding the cattle along with the ranch hands.

Preparing Your Order

At this time, we do not keep quantities of processed beef on hand nor have arrangements to ship our beef out of state. But when guests give us their order during their stay, we can have the order prepared and ready to go when you depart. We are also happy to accommodate combined orders for your group.
