Trophy Hunting, Wyoming Style

That's Why They're Called
The Big Horn Mountains!

The Hideout is an upscale guest ranch operating year round. The food is always outstanding. We offer a variety of accommodations from very luxurious to rustic and basic cabins.

Not only is there abundant wildlife, there is incredible diversity of wildlife. Going on five generations now, the Flitners have consistently practiced responsible stewardship and land management to enhance both wildlife and livestock habitats.

The Game: We see trophy deer and elk, fox, coyote, lynx, Big Horn sheep, mountain lion, black bear, and moose.

Where Ranching, Farming,
& Hunting Co-exist

The Hideout at Flitner Ranch encompasses over 250,000 acres of land in the Big Horn Basin, stretching up into the Bighorn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness Area -- offering an incredible diversity of terrain.

Many efforts have been made to enhance their habitats and ensure the stability of game herds on the Flitner Ranch properties. Hunting is one of the tools used to accomplish this goal. Every management decision made on the ranch takes our hunting habitats into consideration. We seek to enhance this important resource so everyone can enjoy it in different ways.

Ranging from high desert at 4,200 ft in the Shell Valley, to rocky canyons, alpine forests, open range, and mountain streams and lakes, with pinnacles a bit over 10,000 ft. Offering base-camp altitudes up in the Big Horn Mountains flirting with 8,400 ft at the Upper Hideout and 8,600 ft at Snowshoe Lodge.

The Hideout at Flitner Ranch offers a variety of lodgings to hunters. High-altitude rustic ranch cabins such as this can serve as hunting camps.

Whereas the Upper Hideout is more comfortable, Snowshoe Lodge quite comfortable, and then there's the historic, upscale hunting Lodge at Trapper Creek -- a site visited by Teddy Roosevelt and Ernest Hemingway.

To assure an excellent hunting trip customized to your individual desires, we partner with Powder Horn Outfitters, based out of Sheridan, Wyoming.

They would be pleased to work out a back-country hunting proposal for you with us.
