The Hideout at Flitner Ranch has been described as one of the few remaining true American cowboy experiences. Whether beginner or advanced rider, you will experience a once-in-a-lifetime cowboy adventure vacation as you join the professional Flitner Ranch cowboys on an authentic Old West working cattle ranch.
You will actually ride side-by-side with real cowboys to help tend the Flitner Ranch cattle. Today over 1,200 head of Black Angus mother cows, their calves, and yearlings -- plus over 100 registered Quarter horses -- roam over 250,000 acres of open range.
The Flitner Ranch has a horse sale every five years at the Hideout barn where a few head of trained, high-quality ranch horses are made available to buyers from all over the U.S.
These cattle and horses are very hardy and travel the same trails up and down from the mountains that the Flitner Ranch has used for one hundred years.
There is always cattle work to be done. Regardless of the season or how many times you return, you are always guaranteed a true cowboy adventure.
After a day's activities, you will return to The Hideout where private comfortable cabins and first-class dining await you. The Hideout was designed with adults in mind. Each week, a maximum of 32 guests enjoy horseback riding and real-life cowboy adventures by day and beautiful accommodations, cocktail hour, and gourmet ranch dining by night.
Or enjoy scenic half-day horseback riding through sunlit canyons and peaceful valleys. Trek
through time at the Red Gulch Dinosaur Track Site. Take airboat rides along the Big Horn River to spot coyotes, wild horses, and other native wildlife. You may also visit the Smithsonian of the West, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. THis five-museum complex in nearby Cody, Wyoming, is a living tribute to America's Old West.
A typical stay at The Hideout at Flitner Ranch truly includes adventures of all kinds.
