Dear Hideout Guests,
On behalf of the entire crew at The Hideout we would like to wish you a Happy New Year in 2009. We live in troublesome times however; these are also the times for opportunities and exploring new horizons.
Last year we worked on a number of new initiatives to make our 2009 season at The Hideout even more exciting. Now, we are looking forward to sharing this with you.
The New Hideout DVD
We are pleased to mail you our new Hideout DVD; produced by Horse Flicks, the horse television production company. The new DVD aims at explaining more then just The Hideout and the ranch. It explores some other opportunities in this area, including images of the town of Shell, Cody, Trapper Lodge, Horses in slow motion during a branding, winter activities and much more.
You will find images and interviews from our previous DVD, mixed with new ones. Stewart, who is going in his 3rd year as head wrangler explains, in his own words what The Hideout Guest Ranch Experience is all about.
A new Hideout website
In case you have not noticed, we have a brand new website, which has been up for several months. More pictures, less words, testimonials with links to the sites of our new Trapper Lodge Supper Club and the Corporate Retreat site.
Natural Horsemanship
Responding to a frequently asked request of our guests and the market, we started last year with a Natural Horsemanship initiation at The Hideout.
Building on this, several of The Hideout Crew attended a two week clinic at the Parelli Training Center in Ocala and are studying and indulging in other Natural Horsemanship clinics to improve their understanding and skills.
Shawn, Farrah, Marijn and Stewart are working new horses using these techniques, to share this principle and knowledge with you.
Stockman ship / Low Stress Cattle herding concept & training
Last year the entire barn crew attended and participated in the Bud Williams Stockmanship clinic while here at The Hideout. This initiative is a response to the many requests for more communication and training in cattle work when riding out with the Wranglers. Therefore, we have implemented those techniques throughout our 2008 season; now this year we will be putting that information into 1+ day Stockmanship clinics. During your stay at The Hideout, these techniques and training are now included in your package. Stockmanship is to cattle what natural horsemanship is to horses.
The Trapper Creek Lodge & Supper Club
When The Wagon Wheel burned down; we teamed up with Robb and his wife Heather, to open up a Restaurant & Supper Club at The Trapper Creek Lodge. The Trapper Creek Lodge builds upon the culinary tradition of The Hideout.
As you know at The Hideout, we enjoy meals together as a family, however on occasions we dine with all the guests at Trapper instead at The Hideout.
If you prefer an private evening dining a la carte, you can make reservations at Trapper.
Quarter Horse Production Sale at Flitner Ranch
And last but not least, Pam and Greg Flitner have their 5 year horse production sale of Flitner Ranch bred horses Mai 17, 2009. For more information and if you would like to receive information on the horses for sale, bloodlines, etc. please e-mail peter@thehideout.com. – Please visit our websites to learn more about the Flitner bloodlines and Flitner Horses.
