Upscale 300,000 acre Fly-Fishing and Riding Guest Ranch in Wyoming

Less is more…

The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch is an upscale working cattle, riding and fly-fishing guest ranch located in Shell, WY (pop. 87) East of Cody and Yellowstone Park.

At The Hideout we limit ourselves to offering a small number of activities in which we can exceed the expectations of our guests. To us this means riding, horsemanship, cattle work and fly-fishing along with a handful of other activities. We teach our guests how to enjoy these in a meaningful, fun and respectful way.

We fish over 10 miles of streams and creeks running through our 300,000 acre ranch, as well as stocked casting ponds and easy and more challenging streams. In search for excellence our guides also fish other lakes, streams and ponds in The Bighorn Basin and Yellowstone Region at elevations ranging from 4,200 to 10,000 feet. With a population of 2.1 per square mile (compare to New York City with 27,000 per square mile) you will seldom be crowded while you fish, ride or hike.

We fish mostly for brown, rainbow, cutthroat, Yellowstone Cutthroat and brook trout. We always have at least one professional fly-fishing pro on the premises and have access to more pro’s from our partners at The Humble Fly – the leading fly-fishing and guiding shop in Cody.

As friends of the fish, we are 100% catch & release.
