Archery.

A popular non-riding activity is archery. Along with compound bows you can also practice your skills shooting the more traditional long bows.

This season we are considering adding a crossbow for you to enjoy. We are guest ranch, ranch and farm so we like to shoot our arrows to targets which are safely backed by huge bales of hay or straw. You will feel like Robin Hood or William Tell.

When they are not hunting themselves your teacher might be one of our highly specialized archery hunters. These men and women consider hunting with a bow and arrow the only real hunting. The Big Horn Mountains are a very popular destination for archery hunters.

In addition to turkey, deer, and other small game some of these hunters hunt big game like elk, grizzly, wolves, etc. Considering they respect “the gentleman’s 35 foot range” it takes skill and patience to approach game at such a close distance.
